Popel Coumou has a multilayered view of reality—literally.

The Dutch photographer/multimedia artist uses ikon as a way of meaning, and often altering, her answer of reality.

“I had an task to look for a matt image, to make it jammed and then make it bedsitter again,” said Coumou about in whatever way she began making the collages.
